From the west outskirt of Hanoi, there is just one straight road which takes us to Son Tay along the Red river, then ride on the new road to Hoa Binh Province. From now, instead of all the noise or uproarious public transport in the city, all you see is extensive farming lands with paddy fields split by tree-lined road and some traditional farmers who are working laboriously. After lunch in Yen Lac- Hoa Binh Province, you will head up to the North and reach beautiful view of the endless limestone peaks combined with idyllic scenery, this is absolutely incomparable. We head straight at the main range before reaching to a beautiful high forested pass, which descends into the hidden valley Mai Chau. At around 4.00 pm, we arrive in Mai Chau and take a short trip to explore the town, just before dinner. Then you can attend the traditional Thai Dance performance, where you can dance and share a range of special liquors (rice wine) with the locals. It will be a night to remember. Overnight in a house-on-stilts of the Thai people.

In the next morning, you can get up early to admire the view when the sun first appears in the sky after the mountain. It is probably a special sunrise not be compared with anywhere. It is a quite easy riding day, so after having breakfast in home-stay, if time permits, we can make a short tour to discover the daily life of Thai people in Mai Chau, especially the famous traditional market in the center of the town. Saying good bye the hosts, we continue the motorbike tour towards Moc Chau Plateau by riding up to higher lands. On good-looking road over mountains, we head up into a forested region populated by H’mong people before descending into a hilly green area. The landscape becomes even more inviting as you make a turn to small road named Hua Tat pass - an old French-built road with the amazing view of mountains not to be missed. Having lunch at Moc Chau with delicious unique food made by the local.

Moc Chau is considered as one of the largest and attractive plateau in the North Vietnam. It not only is famous for cool temperature and endless large green tea fields. Besides the beautiful nature but also is a place of many colorful hill tribes such as: the H’mong, Muong, Thai,… Therefore, in the afternoon, you can get a chance to learn more about the similarities and differences between those ethnic minorities.
