Highlights

Today, we want to introduce one of our amazing tours “Northwest Vietnam Motorbike to Sapa”. The Northwest highlands are assessed by professional riders as a perfect place to subjugate. It includes limestone mountains, untouched villages of the colorful hill tribes surrounded by endless rice terrace fields. The tour is quite short (total 6 days and 5 nights) but you will never regret choosing it.

Day 1: Hanoi - Mai Chau Valley -150km ( L,D homestay)

The awesome journey start at 8:30 am from Hanoi to the 1st destination - Mai Chau Valley. It takes you about 45 minutes to let the urban city behind and ride in rustic countryside road with plenty of rural villages between hills and rice fields. After lunch in Yen Lac- Hoa Binh Province, you will head up to the North and reach beautiful view of the endless limestone peaks combined with idyllic scenery, this is absolutely incomparable. At around 5:00 pm, we arrive in Mai Chau and take a short trip to explore the town, just before dinner. Then you can choose to attend traditional Thai Dance music shows  and stay at one of Thai’s stilt house.

Day 2: Mai Chau – Phu Yen -165km (B,L,D hotel)

The second day has a quite easy road (about 165km), so we get breakfast at 8:00 am with fresh air of the countryside. If time permits, we can take a short walk to learn more about the daily life of Thai people. After that, we get out the valley by riding up to higher lands, towards Moc Chau Plateau. On good-looking road over mountains, we head up into a forested region populated by H’mong people before descending into a hilly green area. The landscape becomes even more inviting as you make a turn to small road named Hua Tat pass - an old French-built road with the amazing view of mountains not to be missed.

After lunch in Moc Chau, we will cross in the way down, though Da river to Phu Yen town. The scenery has lots to offer with numerous mountain hill and an endless river ready to be discovered. Da river (also called Black River) is known as the most important tributary of the Red River, its total length is nearly 910 km. We continue riding in the banks of the river and finally reach our 2nd destination - Phu Yen, and have an overnight stay at a hotel in town.

Day 3: Phu Yen – Mu Cang Chai – Than Uyen - 220km (B,L,D Hotel)

220 km driving from Phu Yen to Than Uyen (via Mu Cang Chai) is perhaps the most remarkable road of the North of Vietnam. We will bike on some of the very long and most amazing mountain passes in Northern of Vietnam that can give you awesome pictures of mountain and rice terrace fields. Specially, Mu Cang Chai Rice Terrace Fields, which stretching across the mountainside, layer by layer reaching up as endless with about 2,200 hectares of rice terraces, have been recognized as one the unique landscapes of Vietnam. Besides, we also have a chance to meet “the forgotten in time pockets” from many ethnic minorities such as Thai, Tay, Man and H’mong,… Arrive in Than Uyen at around 5:00 PM. Dinner and stay in a hotel.

Day 4: Than Uyen – Sapa - 100km (B,L,D Hotel)

The distance from Than Uyen to Sapa is more shorter, compared to the previous road, but quite more dangerous. The first half of the ride is on the hill up and down roads through many of large green tea fields. But the rest is a true challenge for risk-takers. You will come face to face with “heart-stopping” and most virgin lands on the Earth. Riding over 2,000 meter above sea level and go though an all-year cloudy area absolutely makes you think that you are in heaven. Our next stop is at Sapa, a beautiful tourist attraction that has gained elevated interest by more and more people in the world. Having lunch in Sapa. After checking in the hotel in town, we will have another short motorcycle tour along the Muong Hoa Valley where the tourist usually do walking and hiking along to visit some different village of ethnic people and take the picture of impressive terrace fields. We will be back to Sapa town at 5:00 pm.

Day 5: Sapa – Thac Ba Lake - 220 km (B,L,D, Homestay)

We will leave Sapa earlier cause today has longer road (about 210 km). The next destination is Thac Ba Lake. The winding road goes through some rustic villages located on the top mountains, surrounded by plenty of beautiful rice and corn terraces. We will get down to Lao Cai city, have a brief ride along Nam Thi river then stop in Pho Rang for lunch. After that, we head to the quiet straight road through nice rural villages and arrive to Thac ba Lake. Regarded as “Halong Bay in the high mountains”, one of the attractions of the lake is 1331 islands and islets, forming caves and charming scenery of the mountains. Several villages of ethnic groups as: Nung, Mong, Dzao, Phu La, ... are placed near on the Thac Ba lake side. It is the time to relax and have peaceful time as travelling though lake by boat. After one hour on boat, we get back to homestay in the Dzao village.

Day 6: Thac Ba Lake - Ha Noi - 170km (B, L Tour Ends)

The last journey brings you some options to come back Hanoi but with our experiences in motorbike tour, we will make sure that the road we choice is less traffic and safer than others. If you have time and energy, we can offer a short off-road motorbike ride nearby Vu Linh and Thac Ba lake, it is a short but worthy to experience.
