Hoi An Ancient Town Ho Chi Minh Trail 7 Days
Danang is the third largest city in Vietnam, and is located on the Eastern Sea coast, midway between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
The city itself has neither the atmosphere of Hanoi nor the hustle-bustle of Ho Chi Minh City, but has its share of sights and is close to the ancient cities of charming Hoi An and the imperial capital of Hue, making it a popular vacationing spot for those looking to explore the attractions of central Vietnam or soak up some rays while hanging out on the city's beaches.
Today we offer you a 7 Days motortour from Hanoi to Hoian, explore a part of Central Vietnam.
Day 1 : Hanoi – Mai Chau, 150Km (B,L,D, Thai's Homestay)
The scenery of the arrival to Mai Chau is characterized with beautiful limestone mountains and colourful hill tribes. Visiting Mai Chau, you will enjoy folk songs and interesting culture of White Thai people. After lunch, we have a chance to climb up to the top of Thung Nhuoi pass. From the top of the pass there is a beautiful view of Mai Chau valley, often engulfed by clouds but still a sight to be enjoyed.
In the evening, we can enjoy a local dinner and overnight in a beautiful village at the edge of a river. After dinner, you can spend the evening sitting together around a fire and join in a Thai traditional music show. Thai Women invite visitors to participate in the Xoe dance. When getting tired, everyone stops for a while to drink special sticky rice liquor called “ruou can”. If you participate in the Xoe dance once, especially by the light of a fire at night, you will remember it forever.
oodbye Mai Chau, we continue on the beautiful road which follow the banks of the Ma River. Imagine it can not be better to ride through rice paddies & bamboo hills in a fresh morning.
After some hours riding on undulating quiet road we join the new Ho Chi Minh Highway. This new road leads us to the south. Lunch will be on the way with local foods.
After long riding, we stop in new hot-spot beach belonging Northern territory. Nice water & lively waves from quiet touristy beach will refesh you well.
Day 3 : Cua Lo – Phong Nha, 230 Km (B,L,D Chay Lap Homestay)
After 40min riding we can reach the birthplace of Ho Chi Minh in Kim Lien Village. The place is truly a shrine to the Vietnamese and visited by few westerners.
After paying respects to Uncle Ho, we cross the Lam River on the Ro Bridge and then ride on the beautiful new highway of Ho Chi Minh. Lunch break on the road.
After lunch, we continue to Dong Loc Intersection. We then pass through remote back country, close to the border, as the scenery steadily becomes dominated by karst limestone rock formations.
Day 4 : Phong Nha – Khe Sanh, 220 Km (B,L,D Hotel)
Start new day by riding 20 km to the harbour, we have a boat trip to explore one of the most beautiful cave in the world - Phong Nha National Park, which was declared as World Natural Heritage Site by Unesco since 2003.
After visiting Phong Nha caves by boat, we keep riding along the Laotian border on the western lines of the trail to visit Khe Sanh, one of the most fierce battlefields in the Vietnam War.
Day 5 : Khe Sanh – Hue, 180 Km (B,L,D, Hotel)
Follow the route No 9 to visit Dakrong view-point, Lang Vey marine base.
Continue to visit Hien Luong Bridge on Ben Hai River. Then ride along the coach to visit Vinh Moc tunnel. This tunnel was not setup as army tunnel in Cu Chi. It was a shelter for fishing and farming villagers lived and hidden from the extirpation of American bombardment.
Stop in Hue for night stay.
After dinner, enjoy Hue traditional folklore-song on a private boat on Huong River.
Day 6 : Hue Rest day (B,L,D, Hotel)
Hue is known as the political and cultural centre of the Feudal State of Vietnam during the Nguyen Dynasty. Boat ride along the Huong River from where you can appreciate the exuberance of this ancient imperial city. Along the river, you will visit Thien Mu Pagoda, Minh Mang, Tu Duc Tombs…
No riding today, just relax. Enjoy the atmosphere in here and visit wonders of Hue.
Day 7 : Hue – Da Nang – Hoian, 140 Km (B,L)
Leave Hue, we take the National road to Da Nang by riding up the clouds on Hai Van Pass. It is not just a normal ride up there, it is a present! Hai Van is known as one of the most beautiful coast road in the world. The road is dangerous but the view is so amazing that can not forget!
Half-day exploring the World Culture Heritage site of Hoi An Old Town, a unique combination of architectural monuments of various forms: residential house, assembly hall, communal house, pagoda, shrine, temple, water well, bridge, wharf, market…has been preserved intact. Hoi An is a symbolic oriental city in the Middle Age, so wonderful with its aged and traditionally maintained habits and customs. The town is now an excellent model of a living museum of architecture and urban lifestyle.
